XTAVA Professional Auto Rotating Curling Iron Review

So, I am totally in love with this curling iron. I straightened my hair first and then divided my hair into even sections. Before I started curling my hair I played with the buttons to get familiarized with them. This curling iron by Xtava is an auto rotating ceramic tourmaline barrel which means that it rotates completely by a push of a button (left or right). It also has a long 8ft, 360 degree rotating cord so you won't have to worry about it getting tangled and you're not limited to a particular area . Although in the user manual it states that the iron takes 2 minutes to heat up, I found that it heated up much quicker than that. I say that within 30 seconds the curling iron was hot and ready to use. The iron heats up from 210 degrees to 430 degrees. 

This iron takes some getting use to though, but once you get the hang of it, it is very easy to use. I found that when I pressed the clamp lever I also accidentally hit one of the rotation buttons. The L and R buttons are positioned just below the clamp lever so it is very easy to press the L and R buttons if you are not very careful. This is my only problem with the curling iron. I feel like these buttons should be positioned farther apart from the clamp lever so you can comfortably hold onto the curling iron without worrying if you will press buttons. Several times I caught myself pressing the buttons accidentally and I quickly let go but there were times my hair became too tight against the barrel or the barrel touched my scalp (OUCH). Not to worry though, because once I got the hang of it I didn't make those trivial mistakes anymore.

I found that once I got the hang of the L and R buttons I was able to make beautiful looking curls. I love that I have the option to rotate the curling iron to the left or right because creating curls in both directions gives the illusion of more naturally occurring curls.I was able to keep my curls bouncy and formed by spraying some hair spray on the iron while my hair was heating up. This helped maintain my curls for an all day look but did not make my hair look or feel stiff. I love the auto rotating feature because it helps me create beautiful curls in hard to reach and hard to see places (behind my head). Once I got used to this feature it made it very easy to make beautiful curls in no time. I am very pleased with this curling iron and excited to use it again! ^_^
